| Why are we, the climate and the environment still suffering? |

I had been tricked, duped and indoctrinated. For some reason I felt like I was worthless, an insignificant piece of the world, not only insignificant but even a burden to the world. As my understanding of the world progressed I have become able to express those feelings in writing - but more significantly by talking to people. Eight years ago I had a vision of a world were humans didn't work to receive income to pay for their food, or to pay mortgages on their homes. I saw plenty of artists, but also plenty of farmers, athletes and philosophers. In my vision the planet was in pristine condition. Clear water in the rivers, plenty of big fish in the oceans and predators roaming the grasslands not seen in past hundreds of years. At the time I didn't make much of it, I thought it would never become reality, it was perhaps a lingering childhood utopian fantasy not worthy of my day to day mental focus. But things have changed. The world in front of my eyes cried out louder by every passing year. At the beginning of 2007 I could no longer ignore the call to arms against my zombiefication. My purpose of life began changing. I started reading my writings from earlier years, and while again thinking about what was wrong with me and everything around me I stumbled upon Jacques Fresco whom I've blogged about earlier. I had found a person who with absolute conviction thought the world I had seen in my vision was achievable. Last week another step towards making that vision a reality was taken as Zeitgeist: Addendum was released. I have absolute confidence in the Zeitgeist movement growing fast. When confronted with the absolutely horrific devastation we humans have caused the planet many give up in desperation and convince themselves nothing can be done about the problems. Some even say it's too late and want to go on even worse than before thereby being part of the problem, not the solution. But there are those who see a different world being possible, and we're growing in numbers. The environment and the climate as well as all forms of life on Earth can no longer continue to be abused. We have the technological means to not only stop destroying our planet, but to even help it heal. It will not only benefit the environment as if it were some kind pf selfless act, no nature and it's well being is important to each and everyone of us at the core and will bring back that sense of purpose and belonging so many long for. Without fresh water, without healthy food and without a magnificent nature to be part of we're nothing but unsatisfied consumers.

Since the year 2000, the year of my high school graduation, I've been asking myself why the world is still in such a bad shape. I studied natural science and technology, everything from chemistry to computer programming. Even with my then very limited view of the world I thought we could do better. I knew instinctively something was very wrong.
