Transition to a Renewable Energy Future
Wednesday, 27 February 2008 20:36

Dr. Donald Aitken (http://www.donaldaitkenassociates.com/), physicist, solar architect and former lead scientist at the Union of Concerned Scientists, talks about his certainty that we have all the tools and know-how to make the shift to renewable energy sources right now.

The time for change is now!
To make an energy transition takes about 60 years. How do I know that? Because the United States has done it twice before. The gift of oil and natural gas that we now have, use the energy from those to make the devices that will allow us to make the transition.
Ocean conveyors, it wont take much of a disturbance to break that return flow. The whole process stops. And when it stops it no longer brings that wonderful warm water by Europe and Scandinavia and it gets cold!
